Senior Aerothermal Engineer
Job description
This position will be required to support and lead Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), interface with and support other IPTs (including the facility control system and test facility services) and interact with government and private industry customers in support of science and technology maturation. In addition this position will support the design, preparation, and execution of formal design reviews, test planning, and support activities for complex purchases. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the next generation’s hypersonic design team and mentor other engineers while solving complex technical issues.
Pay Range $150,000- $250,000
The pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, geographic location, and any applicable laws.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
- Experience supporting multi-disciplined teams in fast paced environments.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in task management or project management.
- 8+ years of experience in aerothermal design and development
- Interest in mentorship for junior and mid-level engineers.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- The ability to travel up to 25% of the time to Huntsville, AL and Tullahoma, TN.
- 10 years of experience with hypersonic aerothermal analysis.
- Experience with design and operations of aerothermal wind tunnel facilities.
- Experience in the design and development of hypersonic thermal protection systems.
- Experience involving the design and execution of ground testing to evaluate the performance of TPS material candidates or TPS system components.
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance.
