Job Description: Senior Staff Accountant
Office: Boston, MA; must currently reside in the Boston metro area or be willing to relocate there before starting; must have U.S. Citizenship or Visa

A week in the life for this role?
This role will perform mission critical tasks to ensure a streamlined & efficient finance process. On a week-to-week basis this person will be responsible for:
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies
- Preparing ad hoc reports for senior leaders of the firm
- Assisting in audit and tax return preparation and filings
- Representing the organization externally, as necessary, particularly regarding our banking relationships, clients, and vendors
o Preparing and sending invoices, maintaining, and updating records in ERP system D365
o Following up on outstanding payments and corresponding with internal personnel and clients to answer questions and resolve issues
• Managing Payables functions:
o Manage workflow in ERP system D365
o Maintaining and updating records, corresponding with internal personnel and vendors to answer questions and resolve issues
• Assist with month end including but not limited to:
o Booking prepaids, accruals, depreciation, and intercompany entries
o Completing bank recs for multiple accounts and credit cards
o Processing employee expenses and reimbursables
o Identifying and driving process improvements across all functions of accounting to improve efficiency and accuracy in working with other functional areas throughout the company
o Other finance and administrative duties as required
- Finance or Accounting degree is mandatory
- CPA preferred but not required
- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience with an external accounting and audit firm and/or in-house finance team in a high-growth business or professional services company
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Successful track record within accounting and finance:
o Fluency with Excel and QuickBooks, as well as cloud-based ERP systems such as MS Office 365 & MS Dynamics
o Strong communication skills and comfort speaking directly with vendors, clients and leadership team members
- Small firm experience. We're a small but nimble global organization that operates as a global firm. While experience in larger corporate frameworks will be valuable in bringing additional systems, organization and consistency into our firm, an understanding and experience in a smaller growth environment is critical for success.
- Finally, this person needs to be a self-starter looking to influence and drive the future of Locust Walk.
