THIS IS A SECOND SHIFT POSITION - it runs from roughly 4:15pm to 1:15am Mon-Thurs with a shorter, daytime shift on Friday.

Grandy Organics is a 40+ year old producer of organic granola, roasted nuts, and trail mix in Hiram, Maine. Our solar powered bakery holds our team of roughly 20 folks helping to produce our delicious products…and it smells GREAT!

Essential Job Functions:

This position supervises the Sanitation Team and the daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities of the department. This person works closely with QA and Facilities to maintain food and employee safety and keep operations running smoothly.

1. Follow all prescribed cleaning procedures: wash, clean, and sanitize equipment and spaces in accordance with company guidelines.

2. Maintain accurate and neat records of sanitation. The Supervisor is responsible for checking these records and making sure they maintained and submitted at whatever frequency is required.

3. Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned by supervisors.

4. Assist in training other associates when assigned and certified.

5. Delegate tasks to team members as needed.

6. Review the pre/post operations inspection (performed by QA) before the start of each sanitation shift to review what was missed or performed in error on the prior shift and to communicate with the person responsible for error.

7. Notified management immediately and/ or submit a work order for any issues discovered during a sanitation shift.

8. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

9. Report any disciplinary issues immediately to management for corrective actions.

10. Conduct employee performance reviews in concert with management.

11. Manage the time-cards and time off requests of the sanitation team.

Physical Requirements:

• Perform repetitive grasping, and hand/arm motions while standing/walking the majority of the shift.
• Perform repetitive bending and squatting with and without lifting.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. 40% of the time and up to 60 lbs. occasionally.
• Reach to shoulder level or overhead on occasion while lifting up to 20 lbs on occasion.
• Use your hands to operate controls and feel objects and use tools to prepare equipment.
• Be able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging materials, and food products.
• Able to work on ladders and platforms while following all safety practices.

Qualifications:

• 1 year in manufacturing sanitation preferred but will train a motivated individual.
• Effective communication and ability to follow direction.
• Effective interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States (Required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
