Pay Range $75,000 to $90,000 per year.


We are looking for a high-performing Director of Sales. The successful candidate will develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and revenue growth objectives at our new hotel, Avatar Tapestry Hotel by Hilton. Expand our customer and accounts base by building and maintaining strong, long-lasting client relationships.

Responsible for total room, catering, and overall hotel revenue, yield strategies, implementation and accountable to market performance and meeting budget, forecast, and optimal business mix targets.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, preparations of budget, forecasting, service and long-range planning
  • Work closely with General Manager to determine appropriate sales strategies in all market segments towards maximizing the hotel revenues
  • Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies
  • Develop and implement all sales and marketing strategies associated with SMERF, Sports, Consortia, Wholesale, Leisure, and Business Travel Market
  • Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors in order to capitalize on market opportunities and to establish a leadership position in the market
  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts, including calling on top ten accounts, meeting clients, hosting events, and meeting with on-site contact on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Negotiate with clients and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying client needs.
  • Enhance the hotels community image by actively participating in local chambers, associations, events, clubs, and boards
  • Maintaining strong relationships and partnership with Discover Santa Clara, Santa Clara Convention Center and Levi Stadium
  • Make onsite and field presentations to prospective clients
  • Aggressively pursue new accounts on a weekly basis


REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of progressive hotel sales experience; or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 4 years of hotel sales experience
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Salesforce (Delphi) experience preferred
  • Possess a good understanding of STR Reports, Market shares, competitiveness, pricing, positioning and revenue management
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Essential statistical and analytical skills required to identify revenue opportunities and shortfalls
  • Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally to achieve goals
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment
  • Problem solving skills, effective negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Must have a valid drivers license in the applicable states
