Primary Responsibilities

Health and Safety Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with project and task managers and be responsible for a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to: safety audits/inspections, training, and other program support; hazardous material/hazardous waste management; water and waste water management; EPCRA reporting; data management; in support of projects originating from the Tulsa, OK and other offices.
  • Assist in development of site-specific safety plans/programs, Job Hazard Analysis and other administrative functions in support of project/office SH&E requirements
  • Have a working knowledge of SH&E regulatory codes to include both federal and state and be able to support SH&E training as part of company and client requirements
  • Perform other duties as needed in support of projects originating from the Tulsa, OK and other offices, including but not limited to: safety audits/inspections and other related program support; hazardous material/hazardous waste program support; water and waste water program support; EPCRA reporting; data management.


Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years technical experience or educational equivalent (minimum of associate degree) in occupational health/safety related field
  • Extensive knowledge and application of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of OSHA & ANSI regulatory standards
  • Ability to instruct and facilitate Safety, Health and Environmental training courses
  • Team-oriented with exceptional written and oral skills in support of company SH&E requirements
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Travel throughout the U.S. will be required.
  • Complete a successful background check, as well as having, or being able to obtain in a reasonable time, the required government clearances to perform the responsibilities HDR has been contracted to perform. In some cases this could mean, but is not limited to a CAC card, network access and/or restricted area badges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in one or more SH&E fields (Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Safety Trained Supervisor (STS)).
  • Previous SH&E work experience with construction, DOT, Oil and Gas, and/or A&E firms
