Provide technical expertise, advice, and assistance associated with the development and operation of PNNL’s Physical Security program. This may include analysis and interpretation of DOE and other government agency regulations, laws, and Orders; development of program policies and procedures; generate test and implementation plans and reports associated with the program; assist with hardware installations and associated performance testing and maintenance; make recommendations to resolve high risk Physical Security issues affecting Laboratory strategy.

The incumbent is expected to work independently with increasing levels of responsibility. This includes strategic planning, risk management, allocation of resources, and schedule development of the assigned program areas which are managed by others. Incumbent will represent PNNL and establish and maintain strong working relationships with Lab staff members and management, contractor organizations, and universities.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA and 2+ years of relevant work experience -OR-
- MS/MA or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
- A degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, information systems, or information technology is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Possesses an understanding of the concepts and principles related to physical security.
- Demonstrated experience with the design, implementation, and/or management of security systems, including mechanical and electronic access controls, intrusion detection, cameras and video assessment, alarm monitoring, and/or other security sensors is preferred.
- Knowledge of various DOE orders and DOD regulations is preferred.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.

- Background Investigation: Applicants selected will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance 10 CFR 710, Appendix B.
Drug Testing: All Security Clearance (L or Q) positions will be considered by the Department of Energy to be Testing Designated Positions which means that they are subject to applicant, random, and for cause drug testing. In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for the 12 consecutive months preceding completion of the requisite Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP).
This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The candidate selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing for illegal drugs, including marijuana, consistent with the Controlled Substances Act and the PNNL Workplace Substance Abuse Program.
