Position Description

· Responsible for supervising RNs assigned to department

· Ensures safe and highly reliable care is delivered in the Radiology Department by continuously assessing patient presentations and patient needs.

· Assists Director of Radiology with staff scheduling and payroll.

· Assists Director of Radiology in employee engagement through employee rounding and actively addressing concerns and complaints of staff. Acts as a resource for associates to assist with management of concerns and process improvement initiatives.

· Assists Director of Radiology in interviewing new candidates, coordinating peer interviews, selection of agency contract staff, coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.

· Facilitates positive orientation experiences for new employees by role modeling and the demonstration of our team-oriented focus.

Minimum qualifications

· Graduate from an approved school of nursing.

· BSN required or obtained within 18 months of hire

· Minimum 2 years IR nursing experience

· 1 year of supervisory experience

· Current RN license in the state of Texas or in a qualifying compact state.

· ACLS required

Preferred qualifications

· Experience in unit area specialty in the past two (2) years and one (1) year Management and/or Charge experience

· ARIN: Association for Radiological and Imaging Nursing

· PALS

· CRN: Certified Radiology Nurse
