As a member of the Third Party Credit Risk Group, this role will be part of a Global Commercial Risk function. The function owns the Global Third Party Credit Policy and establishes MIS & Reporting for contingent exposures through various types of third party relationships, such as suppliers, partners, alliances and joint ventures for Citigroup globally.

The Credit Risk Officer will, through the establishment and maintenance of an enhanced control environment, support the production of credit reviews, credit approvals and monitoring the portfolio in coordination with the Risk Management team. The Credit Risk Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Create a culture of accountability, and a strong risk and controls environment
  • Assist with control functions of TPCRG and hand-off process with other functions
  • Issues Management, ensuring Corrective Action Plans are appropriate, monitored and duly validated addressing concerns
  • Manager's Control Assessment (MCA)
  • Internal and external department communications, presentations and materials
  • Regulatory/Internal Audit Coordination
  • Additional Risk & Controls, and Quality Controls processes for TPCRG
  • Revisions to policy and procedures
  • Ensure the team operates in compliance with internal policies, corporate risk standards and regulatory guidance, and that an environment of strict adherence to risk and controls is maintained.
  • Identification and evaluation of emerging risks
  • Assess effectiveness of credit risk processes and standards and identify opportunities for improvements
  • Assess business/risk staffing models to ensure appropriate resources for assigned entities


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills required; editing skills a plus
  • Ability to analyze data and present conclusions
  • Exercises wide degree of latitude and discretion
  • Familiarity with MCA and Issues Management lifecycle
  • Knowledge of commercial risk a plus
  • Ability to apply risk principles toward business goals
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a sense of urgency
  • Proven ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects
  • Proven interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Good team player and excellent work ethics

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
