Qualifications:

Education: Anyone meeting the definition of Qualified Health Professional as per OASAS definition shall be considered to have met the minimal job qualifications.

A. Licensed and currently registered physician by the state of New York department of education.

B. Physicians Assistant licensed and currently registered as such by New York State Department of Education and whose practice is in conformity with Section 3701 of the Public Law.

C. A nurse practitioner who is licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse and who has advanced certification through the American Nurses Association in a clinical specialty area or who has completed a program registered by the New York State Department of education and received a certificate of completion in a clinical specialty area relevant to the treatment of alcoholism.

D. A professional nurse licensed and currently registered by the New York State of Department of Education.

E. An alcoholism counselor who has a current valid credential as an alcoholism counselor issued by the NY Division of Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse in accordance with Section 19.07 (a) (19) and (20) of the Mental Hygiene Law.

F. A certified social worker licensed and currently registered by the New York State Department of Education.

G. A occupational therapist licensed and currently registered to practice by the NYS Department of Education.

H. A psychologist licensed and currently registered by the NYS Department of Education.

I. A rehabilitation counselor certified by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification

J. A therapeutic recreation specialist who holds a baccalaureate degree in a field allied to therapeutic recreation and has five years of full-time, paid work experience in an activities program for the aged, ill, or handicapped in a health care setting or an equivalent combination of advanced training, specialized therapeutic recreation education and experience.

Experience

A minimum of two years experience in providing supervision and administration preferably in a mental health/addictions agency. CASAC prefrerred.

Skills

1.Knowledge of various county and state agencies

2. Demonstrated ability and maintain in a professional manner, relationships with clientele and personnel within and outside the agency, and to work intimately with direct care staff.

3. Ability to communicate effectively and in written form, in an organized and concise manner and work cooperatively with other staff.

4. Counseling and clinical supervision skills (preferred).

5. Demonstrated flexibility

6 .Demonstrated ability of administration, planning and budgeting.

7. NYS Drivers License to be used commensurate with program needs.
