Must Have
- Biochemistry such as: Western blot, Immunofluorescence, flow cytometry
- Tissue culture exp is a must have
- Mammalian Cell culture exp is a must have
- Mammalian cell culture expertise: maintenance, freezing, thawing, and passaging.
- Molecular biology such as: Nucleic acid extraction, cDNA synthesis, RT-qPCR, ddPCR
We are looking for a highly-motivated research technician to work independently and in collaboration with other scientists on projects related to recombinant Adeno-Associated Virus (rAAV) production. Activities will be centered around the development of an inducible production system, quality control assays, and standard operating procedures.
- Perform stable HEK-293 cell line development processes including vector construction, transfection, cloning, cell line characterization, and cell banking
- Conduct small-scale AAV vector production and purification
- Characterize productivity and quality attributes
- Keep accurate records of experimental setup, SOP protocols, data quality control notes, etc.
- Maintain efficient and continuous communication with team members and managers
What hours and days will this person be working?
- Monday to Friday, with expectations to work on weekends and some holidays.

What years of experience, education, and/or certification are required?
- BS degree or master’s degree in biological sciences, molecular biology, neuroscience, or biochemistry and significant 3-5 years tissue culture experience are a must. (Or a master’s degree with at least 2 year of experience).
- The applicant should already be trained in proper wet lab procedures and should be familiar with using basic lab equipment. Having strong communication, organizational and documentation skills is a must.
What is a nice to have (but not required) regarding skills, requirements, experience, education, or certification?
- Previous experience working with AAV; molecular biology techniques such as plasmid construction, sequencing and QC assays; quantitative PCR, digital droplet PCR; RNA, DNA and protein extractions from cell or tissue samples; next generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation.

- The candidate will be involved in a highly enthusiastic, motivated, supportive, and diverse team. The candidate will be involved in multidisciplinary projects across different teams in GRC and is expected to work independently and support the team.
