An opportunity is available in our Analytical Chemistry group for a position to support Corbion's research and development efforts. The successful candidate will be involved in the processing of samples and analysis of compounds of interest by HPLC, GC, GC/MS, LC/MS, DSC, and other methods. In addition to routine sample processing, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, maintaining analytical instruments and their operation, and managing the analytical lab chemical and consumables inventory

Responsibilities:

• 
  Routine processing of samples for a variety of analyses, which may include the use of robotics

• Preparation of reagents and solutions as required

• Analytical lab inventory management, including ordering and tracking receipt of all the essential lab chemicals and consumables

• Basic routine maintenance of analytical instruments, robotics, and ancillary equipment

• Routine use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and various lab instrument data processing software

• Maintain an organized and safe analytical lab

• Additional other duties will be based on the candidates experience

Requirements:

• 
  Applicants will possess a BS degree in chemistry or a related field with 0-2 years of relevant experience

• Excellent wet chemistry/bench skills

• Experience in routine chemical reagent preparation

• Prior knowledge or experience with GC and/or HPLC, including basic instrument maintenance, is strongly desired

• Good computer skills (hardware, Excel, instrumentation software, Microsoft Windows-based operating systems)

• Excellent communication and problem solving skills and the ability to work independently in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced, high through-put R & D environment are essential

• Highly collaborative, self-motivated, and team-oriented individual

This position will pay $33.65/hour to $38.46/hour, depending on experience.
