Job Description

Sutton's, a family owned and operated home improvement firm located in Springfield, IL., is looking for a Remodeling Project Manager to join the team. Sutton's is located in the office they have been in since the early 1970's on Springfield's North side. Several Sutton family members still work in the business daily. It's a small family oriented environment that offers individual performers a chance to grow outside of corporate America.

Sutton's offers competitive compensation, health care, PTO, performance bonuses, and profit sharing. A normal work week would be Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm in the office. (This is not a remote position.)

Job Purpose
: Preconstruction planning of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
:
Work with our team to obtain all of the necessary information to include project data, drawings, specifications, material lists and schedules.
Periodically conduct job site visits to gather information about the project and its unique requirements.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, trade partner costs, equipment, and overhead costs.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure cost estimates are accurate and up-to-date.
Review and approve project budgets, and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to stay informed of current market prices and trends.
Provide recommendations to senior management on ways to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Prepare and present cost analysis reports, including detailed summaries and graphs, to project managers and stakeholders.

Requirements:
College degree or several years of verifiable experience in the construction field.
Cost estimating experience is preferred. A minimum of five years of construction related experience is a must.
Must have strong knowledge of construction materials and how the different products are installed.
Must demonstrate excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Ability to effectively communicate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and without supervision for long periods of time.
Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft office products, Google Drive, and construction related software(s).
Must have a valid driver's license and own transportation to travel to job sites if required.

The successful candidate will have the ability to quickly reverse engineer a job, figure out the costs and whether or not we can produce the job at a profit for what the job was sold for. Then be able to help with the ordering and procurement of the materials needed to produce the project. The successful candidate will take it upon themselves to learn what they don't know already so they can be an asset to all they come in contact with and represent our team with integrity.
