PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Works within a fast-paced environment in the Non-Invasive Lab scheduling patients' procedures, which includes transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) procedures and Tilt table studies. In direct communication with other Units within the hospital and Cardiologist Practices. Properly direct phone calls and answers questions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Schedules transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) procedures and Tilt table studies for the Non-Invasive Lab.

• Works closely with Non-Invasive Lab nursing staff, Cardiovascular Lab and Cardiologist offices to optimize patient flow and utilization of resources.

• Prepares relevant information pertaining to upcoming procedure from PowerChart, for RNs to review.

• Coordinates with the Units and patient escort for patient pick up and return

• Enters outpatients into RadNet scheduling

• Prints outpatient demographics from Forms on Demand

• Confirm procedure's date and time with patient and relay any prep instructions

• Requests anesthesia time

• Answers telephones, takes messages and properly routes telephones calls.

• Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to the appropriate personnel, in a timely fashion, any unsafe activities, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.

• Burn discs for when patients, when needed

• Order and maintains office supplies for the Department as directed.

• Performs other related duties

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High school graduate or its equivalent required.

Two years clerical or Unit Clerk experience required.
