Job Summary and Qualifications

As a highly-skilled, compassionate, registered nurse you will deliver exceptional patient care to victims of sexual assault in our emergency room. You will provide services in a manner that demonstrates respect for the patient’s dignity and meet the needs of the victim by providing an immediate, compassionate and comprehensive evaluation. Our team consider themselves a family who work hard to support each other and we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

In this role:

• You will be responsible for completing the entire sexual assault evidentiary exam, after obtaining a signed consent form.
• You will provide complete information about choices so victims can make informed decisions about the care they want to receive.
• You will assess and document injuries, prophylactic care for STD’s, pregnancy risk evaluation and interception, collection of forensic evidence, crisis intervention and referrals for additional support and care.
• You will follow established protocol for reporting after explaining the process and her responsibilities to the victim.

Qualifications:

• Current Utah nursing license in good standing
• Associate’s Degree in nursing required, bachelor’s preferred
• One year of nursing experience, required. Previous ER and or SANE experience preferred
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
• Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners Training required within 180 days of hire

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
