The
Registered Professional Nurse, Perioperative Services will work
Full Time, Days and is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- The Registered Nurse assesses plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient needs.
- The Registered Nurse contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork and assures that the care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statutes and state and federal law.
- The Registered Nurse provides hands on patient assessment and care coordination in a hospital operative setting.
Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. This mandate requires COVID-19 vaccinations for personnel working for or on behalf of our hospitals and nursing homes. The New York State mandate allows for medical exemptions and religious accommodations, when appropriate. Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelors preferred.
Experience:
- Previous healthcare experience.
- Two (2) years of previous Perioperative Services experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certificates:
- Current NYS licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse, required.
- CNOR Certified, preferred.
- BLS certification required within thirty (30) days of hire.
- ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire.
Skills:
- Excellent motor, hand, eye, coordination and manual dexterity required.
- Ability to handle and operate equipment, read, retains and comprehends written and oral medical and technical information.
- Ability to build rapport quickly, develop trust, sustain working relationships, and represent LFH positively in internal and external meetings is required.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Previous experience with medical records technology, preferred.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills, required.
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills, required.
- Previous healthcare experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires extensive standing, occasional sitting and routine walking.
- Ability to lift, possibly heavy lifting in support of patient positioning, instrument and equipment handling.
