As a Regional Technical Systems Manager for the Security Solutions Team, you will act as a team lead on projects that include system and device installation, programming and configuration, testing and optimization, repairs and preventative maintenance inspections, and service of a variety of IP based security systems and equipment including integrated access control and video surveillance systems. The Regional Technical Systems Manager for the Security Solutions Team will interface directly with the customer; therefore, a professional attitude and appearance are vital.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the main hand-off from the Security Solutions Sales Team to manage projects to completion in all aspects of the installation process.
- Provide in-field Project Management of all assigned Security Solutions projects.
- Act as the in-field team lead, guiding and teaching existing team members and subcontractors on industry best practices to properly execute installation tasks.
- Work with the Security Solutions Team to create effective training programs for existing technical team members at various branches.
- Guide service team members on how to properly diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve equipment problems and software application issues in a positive and efficient manner.
- Guide service team members on how to properly configure, test, and optimize video and access control security systems and integrate these into automated alert and messaging systems.
- Guide service team members on how to configure and test LAN/WAN network infrastructures required for proper system functionality and user access.
- Guide team members on how to configure multiple software applications to facilitate successful technical solutions and product delivery.
- Assist in managing and deploying factory software/firmware updates with in-field service members.
- Provide guidance to in-field service members on how to properly conduct annual preventative maintenance tests and create detailed reports for customer review and related log files.
- Conduct site walks and participates in presale quoting of video and access control-type security systems.
- Assist in the staging and deployment of computer server infrastructure and related software applications.
- Assist with as-built creation, change orders, and project sign-offs.
- Provide oversight of communications equipment and peripheral hardware installation as a team lead.
- Assist in delivering and executing customer Functional Acceptance Test Plans (FATP), perform and document results of site surveys and assessments per defined customer requirements in pre-sales delivery and post-installation.
- Work with account management teams to prepare quotes, bids, and schedules for completing installation and repair tasks.
- Prepare written reports and communicate verbally with customers as well as with 3rd party vendor representatives, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Create project documentation as requested.
- Participate in other lines of business technical solutions, such as wireless communications systems, wireless data networks, and enhanced coverage of BDA/DAS networks when possible.
- Travel is anticipated at 40%.
- 5+ years of experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, installing, and commissioning video and access control type systems.
- 2+ years of solution design work with full quoting of all services is a plus.
- 2+ years as a supervisor of a team of technicians and installers.
- Thorough understanding of IP networks and electronic systems, wired and wireless.
- Reads blueprints, schematics, system design diagrams, and wiring diagrams and can utilize all information in the troubleshooting and repair of electronic systems.
- Proficiency in operating various test equipment including but not limited to, utility software applications, network testers, and multi-meters.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Holds current installation license where required.
- Preferred Experience with Avigilon or similar video and access control security systems.
- A team-driven individual in a dynamic work environment, self-driven to perform even without outside direction.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Drug screenings and background checks are part of the hiring process, which may also include a Motor Vehicle Record check.
