POSITION: Recovery Charge Nurse (RCN)
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time (FT)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Detox Program is funded by revenue appropriated by State of Florida and Okaloosa County and your employment is contingent upon continued funding of this program.
Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) is seeking applicants for our Detox team. This position will manage day-to-day operations of BCI’s Detox program in Fort Walton Beach (FWB).
Applicants must have good observation skills, enthusiastic personality, ability to work well with behavioral health patients, and a true motivation to help others in the community.
The Recovery Charge Nurse (RCN) serves as a member of the BCI’s management team and provides leadership, direction, and oversight to the Detox program. The position is responsible for the overall business operations, strategy, and success of the integrated primary care medical practice. The Charge Nurse works with Counselors and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to ensure efficient day-to-day operations and oversees all operations to ensure effective, compliant practice operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong healthcare background and be a motivated self-starter with excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
The Recovery Charge Nurse (RCN) will provide supervision, direction, and performance evaluations to associates. The Recovery Charge Nurse will report directly to the Senior Vice-President of Medical Services (SVPMS).

Recovery Charge Nurse (RCN) provide hands-on care to patients with varying degrees of mental illnesses and/or developmental disabilities. They perform a vital, front-line function as they observe, treat, and interact with patients.
BCI Recovery Charge Nurse (RCN) take part in both the planning and implementing of patient Treatment Plans. Tasks will include interviewing patients, assisting patients with questions about their medications, make referrals to other internal BCI departments, and gather information.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Clear and Active FL Registered Nurse (RN). Five (5) years of related experience preferred. Must have or be eligible to receive the HIV/AIDS 501 certification within one (1) year of employment. Bilingual (Spanish & English) applicants preferred. Candidate must be able to pass an Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) Medicaid and Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level II background screening, a drug screening, and a Tuberculosis (TB) test. Applicant must also have a valid Florida Driver License with no more than three (3) points on their driving record and be able to be insured under BCI’s automobile insurance policy. Further minimum requirements include:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Ability to work with a team
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / & ABILITIES:
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Avatar is a plus.
- Display strong organizational, team building, decision making and problem-solving skills
- Coordinating medical front office operations
- Must have demonstrated a leadership position within the healthcare industry
- Must have experience in staff mentoring, development and training
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience in Writing and maintaining program Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

WORK HOURS: Monday – Friday 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. / Weekend On-Call (O/C) Coverage as Needed
SALARY: $82,000.00 / annually
