For 51 years NOC has led the outdoor industry, taking more guests whitewater rafting and teaching more paddlers than any other outdoor recreation company. Job Summary: The Rafting Rentals Guide position is a fast-paced position that greets and prepares NOC’s raft rentals guests for their rafting experience on the Nantahala River. This position will run from May 1st - September 30th and generally sees a 35-40-hour work week in the peak season (June-August) with possibilities for overtime around summer holidays and organizational events. The Raft Rental Guide will work alongside other Raft guides to accommodate rafting guests, maintain gear, and facilitate daily operations through teamwork and with discipline and positive attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check-in guests for appropriate trip times.
  • Conduct viewing of informational video and general verbal overview of equipment, hazards, landmarks, rules and regulations.
  • Inform guests of provided gear and equip as necessary.
  • Aid and assist NOC guests as needed

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

  • Clean background check

Applicants must be:

  • Capable of maintaining composure under stress and working with others to complete tasks.
  • Capable of maintaining a professional appearance and attitude always.
  • Capable of working responsibly while unsupervised for short periods of time.
  • Capability and willingness to learn and instruct basics of whitewater safety.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs. repetitively.
  • Comfortable working in adverse conditions (wind, rain, heat); this is an outside job which operates rain or shine.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
