Nasoya is hiring a Quality Assurance Supervisor to assist with the daily Quality Assurance functions performed on three shifts. Performs testing and auditing of final product, process parameters and raw materials used. Ensures compliance with quality specifications and standards.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform various quality assurance testing on both raw and finished products used in the tofu making process
- Review formulas and specifications and confer with Quality Manager and operations to determine quality and reliability standards
- Interact with other functional managers including production, warehouse, maintenance, regarding issues affecting quality
- Review and audit sanitation and operational practices and procedures and report’s findings to Quality Manager
- Collect data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards
- Monitor pest control program through outside licensed agency
- Train new quality employees and temporary staff
- Conduct Quality BMP & MSDS trainings and audits
- Update procedure manuals for the Quality Assurance department
- Participate and report all co-packer quality related issues
- Assist with capability studies on machine or existing processes
- Review with Quality Assurance Manager all responses to customer complaints to consumer affairs group
- Participate in maintaining a superior rated level of GMP’s and sanitation and be ready for regulatory/customer inspections at any time
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or other related fields
- 3 - 5 years of experience in food manufacturing industry
- Experience with identifying and monitoring allergen programs
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP and all Pre-requisite Programs as well as all applicable certifications (Non-GMO, National Organic, Kosher etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and regulatory documents
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
