The Jamison Door Company is a manufacturer of specialty commercial doors, located in Hagerstown, MD. We are searching for a highly motivated, aggressive Materials/Purchasing Manager who can analyze and improve our current buying systems to create the best practices for our purchasing and materials management processes. Along with excellent people skills, this position requires someone willing to establish goals to reduce costs based on inventory needs and sales projections as well as be a team player. This is a hands-on environment and requires someone comfortable within a manufacturing facility:

• Propose improvements to the current purchasing/materials management system that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business. Implement and learn new systems.
• Experience with international purchasing. Looking for resources everywhere to cut costs (not just North America and China)
• Will need to interface with our Italian partner’s Purchasing Department
• Think outside the box. Needs to look at big picture with purchases of materials (cost and time for materials to be transported)
• Manage day to day purchasing/material management operations and ensure that staff is meeting performance standards.
• Supervise Purchasing, Production Control, Receiving and Stockroom personnel.
