This is a full-time, benefited position working under the direction of the Water Reclamation Section Manager. Responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining instrument controls and electrical apparatuses in the Water Resources Division and throughout the City as needed. Provides written reports and calibration results in accordance with city, state, and federal requirements. Assists in the hiring, training and supervision of assigned full time, seasonal, and flexible employees in the completion of projects and assignments. Performs duties that may include bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, walking, crawling into manholes or trenches, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces. Frequently lifts equipment and tools weighing as much as 50 pounds and occasionally as much as 100 pounds. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requires an Associate's Degree in the electrical automation field with a minimum of four years of experience or training in the instrumentation control field, including experience or training in electricity, motors and motor control, electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education. A Journeyman Electrician License is preferred but not required. Thorough knowledge of instrumentation and process controls, electric motors and motor controls, telemetering systems, general electric and lighting systems, backup power systems, pump controls, furnace controls, and flame safeguard equipment. Considerable knowledge of culinary water system controls, regulators, chlorinators, water reclamation facility operations, and solid state digital and analog circuits. Considerable knowledge of electricity, electrical circuits, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and other electronic controllers such as timers and flow-proportionate actuators, and wireless data transmission equipment. Ability to systematically troubleshoot energized electrical and electronic systems in a safe and logical manner, to safely make tests and repairs to medium voltage switch gear and motors, to make accurate flow and pressure measurements and calculations, and to read electrical and electronic blueprints and diagrams. Knowledge of confined space requirements and other related OSHA regulations. Must possess and maintain a valid Utah driver’s license. Thesuccessful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

The current salary range for Public Works Coordinator is $25.53 to $38.30 hourly ($53,108 to $79,662 annually). Individual starting salary will depend on qualifications, certifications, and experience.
