Purpose:


Responsible for coordination of project plans, schedules, activities, and milestones in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by Worley. Supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders. Bridges the technical gap between the Project Manager and Engineers. Often functions as assistant project manager with an engineering background. Ascertains that engineering work is done according to plan by helping with design interpretation. Reviews bill of materials/project schedules/forecasts for accuracy. This role would apply to those with an engineering background.


Responsibilities:


  • Entry level project manager responsible for planning and execution on projects of limited complexity and/ or size.
  • Typically manages engineering for a portion of a project or a single project small in scope or complexity.
  • Responsible for the daily administration of project and/or Worley policies and processes for the projects team to meet business objectives.
  • Requires general knowledge of at least one technical/functional discipline.
  • May serve as a proposal manager for small projects.
  • Makes independent decisions involving multiple, less complex functions based on established guidelines, taking into account the cost and schedule impact to the project.
  • Assigns project work and gives technical guidance to people assigned to work on their projects.
  • Does not have any direct reports but may provide project performance input for project teams members.
  • Maintains HSE focus within the team to ensure HSE requirements are included in design and procurement.
  • Demonstrates full commitment to all health and safety matters and provides safety leadership to project team.
  • Defines and selects team required to deliver scope of work.
  • Effective at leading team to accomplish goals.
  • Sets clear objectives for the project team including scope, schedule, productivity, and budget targets.
  • Keeps team members informed about project status and key performance indicators.
  • Oversees, motivates, and monitors the performance of the team, ensuring quality and timeliness of assignments and roles, and addresses any performance gaps.
  • Understands Worley established procedures, methods, and tools for project technical coordination.
  • Ensures Worley approved systems, processes & tools are deployed and complied with on the project.
  • Applies knowledge of all aspects of project engineering to oversee successful technical coordination.
  • Ensures design team is aware and complying with customer Basis of Design and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Demonstrates understanding of engineering project delivery workflow and coordination.
  • Applies basic knowledge and understanding of customer contract to the oversight and management of the project.
  • General understanding of cost, schedule and estimating principles.
  • Prepares standard project control requirements.
  • Tracks cost and schedule and uses analytical skill to forecast trends.
  • Ensures proper change control processes are understood and used by the project team.
  • Translates contract requirements for project scope into Worley scope of services and deliverables.
  • Ensures project schedules and resource plans are developed and utilized in managing the project tasks.
  • Manages execution, coordination, and implements regular reviews/controls to track project progress.
  • Develops action plans to address project tasks and issues.
  • Basic understanding of Project Control Reports and identified problem areas.
  • Promotes Value Creation and Sustainable Solutions objectives for project.
  • Clearly communicates technical and coordination requirements for the project.
  • As technical customer interface, pro-actively addresses technical coordination issues with the project team.
  • Keeps all stakeholders informed of project technical status.
  • Creates an environment for open communication and collaboration.
  • Understands the customer’s key drivers (KPIs).
  • Establishes good working relationship with customer technical counterpart.
  • Establishes relationships with external vendors and suppliers.
  • Develops a relationship of trust and respect with ability to discuss project progress, challenges, and issues in a transparent manner.
  • Identifies potential technical risks and effectively develops risk mitigation, contingency and resolution plans.
  • Follows Worley risk management procedures.


What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:


  • Typically, 6+ years engineering experience, including 5 to 7 years technical, supervisory and/or management experience, developing project management experience; E, EP project experience.
  • EPCM, EPC including site assignment; Workshare.
  • Strong understanding of Worley Management and Knowledge Systems, processes, and tools.
  • Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues.
  • Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Can organize information from many sources and retain as per the prescribed format and policies.
  • Competent in Microsoft Access and Visio.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:


Required:


  • University degree or equivalent in engineering or equivalent experience with professional registration in local jurisdiction.


Preferred:


  • Professional registration in local jurisdiction; Membership in globally recognized project management organization (IPMA, APM, PMI, AIPM).
