Summary

Perform engineering duties for the planning and construction of complex concrete structures for the transportation, water treatment & supply, commercial, industrial, multi-family residential and power industries.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, submissions, specifications, any changes and document control.
  • Assist in the estimating and purchasing efforts of various bid packages and baseline construction schedules for the company’s concrete construction projects.
  • Assist in subcontract administration, including defining scope of work, answering inquiries, monitoring progress, and tracking and processing back charges.
  • Responsible for all project engineering files relating to subcontract and bid package records, plans, specifications, changes, clarifications, and as-built documents and submittals.
  • Assist with the closeout process, including but not limited to documentation, deficiencies, warranties, maintenance, and final payments.
  • Responsible for change order management and for setting up, issuing documentation, estimating, and changing administration.
  • Liaise with the owner, client, consultant, building inspector, city manager and other public personnel.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the project schedule and costing system. Monitor job cost to-date through to completion.
  • Monitor and assist in the implementation of the quality control, safety and environmental programs for the construction project.
  • Assist with preparing monthly financial reports to include monitoring and tracking of costs and with Schedule of Values.
  • Responsible for material procurement and expediting, and control inventory including monitoring and tracking of equipment and resources.
  • Assist in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the work area and plan.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Ensure compliance with company’s policies, local labor laws and labor agreements where applicable.
  • Initiate coordination with Scheduling Department when appropriate.
  • Responsible for pricing and submitting change orders pursuant to the Baker Change Order Log, preparing billing breakdown and submitting monthly billings and assisting Accounts Receivables with timely collections of closeout documents ensuring final payment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Three (3) years of experience in preparing project specifications for construction projects with Procore software.
