Drawing from the missions of UC Merced and UCSF, our program will advance health worldwide by research/inquiry, health professions education and teaching, public service, and excellence in patient care.
The program assistant provides administrative support to team members throughout the planning and implementation of SJV PRIME+ including communicating between program participants and managerial staff, creating and updating program schedules, and assisting in the planning and managing of program meetings, retreats, and events. Additionally, the program assistant writes routine reports and correspondence, assists with the development of project/program materials, and works with and maintains data management and filing systems for the program
The candidate will possess strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner for multiple audiences. They will demonstrate effective interpersonal and collaborative skills to build strong working relationships with stakeholders and leaders at all levels across three campuses and external to the program. They will have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, analytical, project management and independent problem-solving skills.
Under supervision, the ideal candidate will be responsible for setting priorities, handling deadlines, and managing conflicting demands, while working as part of a diverse and dynamic team.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

The School of Medicine’s Office of Medical Education (OME) is the administrative unit that oversees all health professions education programs for the School of Medicine which includes 1,200 teaching faculty, 650 medical students, 1500 residents and fellows and 30,000 continuing education activities each year. For the past ten years, UCSF has been the only medical school ranked in the top five for research and for primary care training. The Office of Medical Education sets all strategic directives for medical education across the enterprise. OME is responsible for ensuring the highest quality learning and teaching environment for our programs and the support and development of over 110 staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduation and four years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
- Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
- Ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes and or conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrates well developed interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior leaders.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic and highly complex environments.
- Proficient in MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum two years’ experience supporting development of project strategy, objectives, and goals.
- Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
