Job Title: Product Safety Engineer

Job Location: Mooresville, NC

Must Have: Technical, Battery PCBA (circuit board) experience.

Previous work experience with consumer product companies is a plus.

Position Summary:
1. Be the expert and effectively document and communicate product safety
2. Assess and highlight potential product safety issues based on intended product use and misuse
3. Research and establish the applicable safety regulatory requirements
4. Lead product safety reviews for new product
5. Visit sites to conduct cause and origin investigations
6. Interact with multiple groups and handle sensitive and confidential information
7. Review manuals with product teams to ensure that proper safety warnings are listed

Experience Required:
1. 3+ years of product safety experience
2. Experience in Risk Management
3. Experience in working with regulatory standards
4. Experience with CPSC requirements, processes, and procedures
5. Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
6. Proficient in MS Office
7. Self-starting with solid follow-through and multitasking abilities
8. Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload
9. Certified Fire Investigator is preferred, but not required

Education Requirement:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

1. Ability to travel as needed
