Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking a Procurement Specialist in Lynnwood, WA.
Job Summary:
The NPI (New Product Introduction) Procurement Specialist represents new product development. This position is responsible to successfully manage material acquisition and transition products from development into production. They will work closely with Business/Program Management to ensure sourcing decisions are aligned with the Product Sourcing Plan, and will work closely with Engineering, MEs, QEs, Site Leaders, Value Stream Managers, and Strategic/Tactical supply chain through the development process and into production.
This position is eligible for our Crane Flex Hybrid schedule which allows for the option of up to 2 days/week of work-from-home. Some conditions apply which will be discussed during the interview process. Full policy to be provided after hire.
Essential Functions:
· Drive new product development to ensure the best supply solution is leveraged for the life of the program in alignment with the established commodity supplier strategy process and program sourcing plan
· Interface with strategic and tactical Supply Chain teams to confirm supply strategies identified as part of new product development are executed in accordance with plans
· Analyze the supply base to determine supplier selection to support program
· Determine Early Supplier involvement depending on the complexity of commodity
· Manage and purchase material acquisition for NPI
· Communicate and coordinate with Business/Program Managers, Engineers, and outsourcing teams to drive action plans toward achieving program deliverables
· Cultivate and manage relationships with key suppliers, for new program sourcing requirements
· Create and maintain action plans through completion
· Support efforts to establish cost effective, long term solutions with key suppliers to optimize total acquisition cost of materials and ensure availability of required materials
· Assist/Implement Long Term Agreement negotiations , Blanket PO’s and Stocking Agreements for the programs in support of product line production plans
· Identify and support/lead supplier assessments related to NPI programs
· Assure recurring cost targets are achieved for purchased and subcontracted content in line with the Business Case
· Define sourcing and quoting strategies and supplier onboarding
· Ensure successful material changeover to production buying for new parts
· Promote cost reduction initiatives as an integral team member with responsibility to identify and drive execution of the best supply solution
· Monitor and report through visual metrics performance to the cost, lead time, and quality targets
· Utilize objective supplier performance data to drive continuous improvement in supplier base performance, including feedback to suppliers for the programs and the proactive resolution of issues with suppliers
· Attend Program Meetings including:
o PDRs and CDRs (Preliminary/Critical Design Reviews)
o Phase Gage Reviews and Approvals
o Program Reviews
o Production Readiness Review
o Supply Chain Reviews (i.e. Commodity, Supplier Performance)
o Operations Review when applicable
o Vertical Review when applicable
· Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience : 4+ years of experience in Sourcing / Procurement in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge : Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Oracle (or other) MRP system. Solid understanding of sourcing strategy development and purchasing;
Understanding of aerospace electronics specifications and comparisons; Broad knowledge of electronics industry practices and innovations related to delivery performance and cost and
lead time reduction -
Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated ability to develop, negotiate and administer long term agreements; Proven ability to develop and execute action plans and communicate
/coordinate cross functionally with Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing Operations and Suppliers to achieve company goals; Ability to understand complex customer
flow down requirements and work with suppliers to make sure those requirements are met; Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a wider Aerospace
team Ability to develop and foster effective working relationships across functions (Business, Program Management, Engineering, Value Streams, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Strategic and Tactical Supply Chain) Education/Certification: BA or BS degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field or equivalent.
Preferred Qualification s:
- CPIM and/or ASCM certification
- Knowledge of subcontracts
- Knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and ITAR regulations
- LEAN manufacturing experience
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited
to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other
required PPE
May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures,
confined spaces, dust or fumes
Requires approximately 10% travel to support customers

Salary range: $94,993 to $118,684. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
