Job Description

Process Automation Engineer, Archer Daniels Midland Company, Des Moines, IA. Support automation systems through development, guidance, troubleshooting, and standard work. Collaborate with various teams to execute projects while applying global standards. Mitigate risk, improve efficiency and drive optimization projects through automation. Advance the standardization and documentation of automation systems. Comply with safety and EHS requirements. Develop and maintain documentation of hardware and software related to automation control systems such as P&IDs, network drawings, and control narratives. Maintain a thorough knowledge of production processes, equipment and operations in the interest of developing, improving and maintaining process and safety interlocks.

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Electronic, Automation) or a related field and five (5) years of related work experience.

Must have five (5) years of experience or knowledge in/with the following:
  • Developing and modifying Allen Bradley, Novatech D/3 systems, Rockwell PlantPAx and OSIsoft PI applications to achieve desired control processes;
  • Applying knowledge of TCP/IP, ControlNet®, DH+, or Modbus industrial networks to troubleshoot issues;
  • Industrial Process Control including instrumentation, AC/DC electrical systems, piping and instrument diagrams;
  • Programming, troubleshooting and repairing issues with control systems and Allen Bradley Smart MCCs including VFDs; and
  • Working with and around AC and DC voltages up to 120V.

Must have the ability to climb stairs, lift and move a minimum of 40 pounds. Must be available for on-call rotation for off-hours, holiday, and weekend coverage.

Up to 10% domestic travel required.
