Job description
Our innovative and growing company is searching for an experienced MRI technologist. MRI technologists utilize their communication, patient care and collaborative skills to interact with patients and other members of the healthcare team. They are responsible to ascertain each individual’s safety in the MR environment before entering the magnetic field. MRI technologists utilize their knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the principles of MRI to operate MRI scanners safely and efficiently, assisting in the diagnosis of disease and injury. Effective MRI technologists are patient advocates who display reflective, responsible practice and have strong problem solving and technical skills.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Graduate of a licensed Radiologic Technologist Program
AND
Experience:
One (1) year experience as an MRI Technologist
Certification / License Requirements:
Must possess American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification and Mississippi State Department of Health licensure. Certification and licensure must remain current and valid.
Documentation Required:
Applicant must provide a copy of valid ARRT certification and Mississippi licensure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Additional essential functions may be identified and included as needed. The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Schedule MRI patients
- Escort patients to MRI area
- Question patients prior to MRI
- Perform MRI
- Maintain documentation and assist Radiological Director with MRI Accreditation every 3 years
- Scan and fax patient histories to radiologist
Experience
Required- 1 year(s): One (1) year experience as an MRI Technologist
Education
Required- Associates or better
- Technical/other training or better
- Bachelors or better
Licenses & Certifications
Required- Reg. Radiology Technician
