Preschool Teacher/Aide

Hopper Creek Montessori seeks an energetic, caring, and articulate individual to be a part of our growing preschool program. The aide position requires no prior experience while the teacher position requires necessary state certification. This teacher or aide position requires reliable independent judgement, effective communication, collaboration, initiative, creativity, and flexibility. An ideal candidate brings a passion for supporting the development of young people, a caring and loving attitude, and an ability to work on a small team or other aides and teachers. As our preschool looks towards the future, over the next five years we hope to build, grow, and continuously improve our program to meet the needs of students, families, and our community. An ideal candidate should bring a capacity for long range planning and goal setting.

We at Hopper Creek Montessori are dedicated to the holistic growth and development of each child and family that walks through our doors using evidence-based approaches to early-childhood development/education. We are a small, family-oriented and family-run school with a small student-to-teacher ratio. We strive to nurture positive self-esteem and a passion for learning through individualized, student-led activities guided and enriched by our talented, knowledgeable, and caring faculty. Our programs, while individualized and adapted for each student, build upon our community of learners by using multi-age classrooms designed to create opportunities for independence, citizenship, and accountability. Position Summary

As a small school with a small faculty, you will work on a team with the owners, director, and one to two other teachers to manage and run the classroom within Hopper Creek Montessori. The teacher is instrumental in developing and implementing curricula, managing the classroom environment, and helping our students learn and grow. We expect teachers to work with our other faculty to meet the needs of students, families, and faculty while also working with the owners to ensure smooth operation of Hopper Creek Montessori. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Maintain clean and safe learning environments

· Developing careful, creative, and appropriate programs for our students

· Employ various educational techniques to promote learning

· Observe and assess students, providing valuable feedback to students, parents, and faculty

· Develop individualized goals plans to meet student’s developmental needs

· Adapt teaching materials and methods to meet the interest and learning styles of our students

· Develop and maintain positive relationships with students and families

· Manage classroom activities including lessons, play, breaks, and snacks

Job Skills and Qualifications

· Child Development Teacher Permit for California (Teacher only)

· Must be able to pass a background check, health screening, and TB test

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
