Job Description Summary
Children’s Mercy Park is looking for dynamic service professionals to join our hospitality team called City Foods & Events for the 2023 MLS season. Our Bartenders are expected to provide exceptional guest service while working collectively and cooperatively through out multiple venue locations within Children's Mercy Park. Our Food and Beverage program provides our players, fans, and guests with only the highest quality of accommodation and customized service.

The position is to be a key contributor to the Hospitality team while ensuring all work is consistent with the Sporting KC brand purpose: “We create memories through personalized experiences with our Club.”

Job Description
ASSOCIATE PERKS

  • Pay starting at $18.00 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Timely, efficient, accurate service of food and beverage orders to guests.
  • Mix and serve alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes while maintaining liquor controls in accordance with company policy.
  • Ability to interact with guests is a business professional manner.
  • Provide our guests with personal service and attention to detail that will exceed their expectations.
  • Work as a team with fellow associates and other service departments within stadium.
  • Record all sales utilizing the point of sale system; obtain payment immediately.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of food and beverage menu, specials and services offered.
  • Ability to up sell, explain and answer questions about menu items and specials in detail.
  • Ability to open, present and serve fine wines to guests.
  • Set up and maintain a clean, neat and safe work area.
  • Fulfill the assigned opening and closing duties.
  • Must be knowledgeable of other food, beverage and retail outlets within the stadium.
  • Mix and serve alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes while maintaining liquor controls in accordance with company policy.
  • Arrive at designated All-Inclusive area at scheduled time.
  • Have bar knowledge to set up bar to provide the best guest service.
  • Have knowledge of how to implement a bar inventory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask between guest services and guest satisfaction.
  • Proper closeout of designated All-Inclusive bar area.
  • Responsible for all closing out paperwork for All-Inclusive bar.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of bartending experience.
  • Strong ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to adapt to guests needs and quick special needs.
  • Knowledge of classic cocktail.
  • Always hold the Sporting Service Standard.
  • Ability to pass bartender test.
