Founded in 1869, Wabtec (NYSE: WAB) is a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services. Our Freight Services Division provides locomotive maintenance services to our customers, helping them keep their locomotives running at optimal levels.
The Precession Materials Leader role will be responsible for providing expertise to the services team in addition to developing and implementing receiving and shipping interface solutions. The role will also be responsible for packaging specifications and forecasting tools and will develop solutions from conception through to production and project integration.
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $90,000 - $120,000. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus. While this position is optional remote, it may include occasional work at a Wabtec office/site or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
What You’ll Do:
- Develops demand management software tools to be used by the field services teams
- ERP/MRP and other fulfillment system design, implementation, and improvements
- Work closely with the services and planning teams to implement and communicate to the operations teams as necessary.
- Develops tools and methods and sustain monitoring of key performance indicators, designs, and sustains policies, processes, and tools.
- Leads initiatives and leverages region and product best practices, works with sourcing, planning, industrial, and execution teams.
- Work with various MRP, quality, and MES software systems.
- Work as part of a cross functional team, driving a "one team" focus, dedicated to customer success within the shop.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, OSHA work practices, and industry/site-specific work rules.
- Be expected to occasionally report on and present project updates to senior and executive leadership.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or bachelor’s degree in technical field preferred (i.e., Computer Science, etc.)
- Minimum four current years’ experience in a production or materials role in manufacturing industry strongly preferred
- 2 years of experience with designing, implementing, and/or integrating ERP/MRP and/or other related system solutions
Desired Characteristics
- Coding, design, software creation type experience/education
- Extensive project management experience
- Previous experience with Oracle, OBI, and other related tools
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing / services techniques and processes.
- Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while having a high degree of attention to details.
- Knowledge of production/materials control system.
- Strong organization skills.
