Seeking passionate and experienced 3K and Pre-K (UPK) teachers for expanding Jewish preschool in the Chelsea area, that will work closely with the DOE. Warm and welcoming environment. Looking for candidates that will establish trusting relationships among children and families. Dedicated to facilitate play-based learning and inquiry. Collaborate with program leaders to set goals and improvement in social, educational and interpersonal skills. Adhere to all safety and health requirements.
Requirements:
Lead Teacher: Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education
NYS Certification or a study plan toward certification.
Assistant teachers: Experience in a classroom, high school diploma. Preferred study plan toward an early childhood degree.
For both lead and assistant - A minimum 1-2 years experience working with children in a classroom setting preferred
Candidates should:
- Possess excellent classroom management skills
- Have the ability to work and communicate well with children, families, and colleagues
- Must be willing to be fingerprinted by DOI and have a background check
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a welcoming, bright, clean, and safe environment for both students and families
- Plan and supervise a warm, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for the growth of children while practicing a high level of care and educational standard
- Demonstrate knowledge of the DOE curriculum and know how to implement the curriculum (Explorations for 3k and Units of study for UPK)
- Take into consideration the individual needs of children and differentiate instruction to meet those needs
- Contribute to the social and emotional development of the children so they can more easily transition into the next level of education.
- Establish and maintain a safe, nurturing and clean learning environment for the children.
- Work collaboratively with an assistant teacher and delegate tasks to improve the flow of the classroom.
- Provide a reasonable balance between teacher-directed and child-directed activities.
- Track children’s progress and prepare assessments.
- Knowledge of Jewish Holidays and customs a plus

Pay: $41,470.30 - $68,000.00 per year
