Job Description
Conducts activities in the powder coat painting process. Set up, operate, or tend machines to coat or paint any of a wide variety of products, mostly steel and aluminum, with paint, powder, or rust-proofing materials. Prep materials for the painting process, move materials- including loading and unloading the line, troubleshooting run issues, and moving pallets of materials are included.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities *
Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards, and make adjustments as necessary.
Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections, or by using viscometers.
Weigh or measure chemicals, coatings, or paints before adding them to machines.
Select appropriate coatings, paints, or sprays, or prepare them by mixing substances according to formulas, using automated paint mixing equipment.
Load and unload the line.
Clean and prep materials to be painted.
Promote and support the maintenance of a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment.
Recognize defective parts and ensure quality standards and customer specifications are met.
Clean machines, related equipment, and work areas using water, solvents, and other cleaning aids
Sort and prepare hooks, racks, and fixtures for burn-off.
Perform color changes.
Maintain run time and production records.

- 2-3 Years in Manufacturing environment
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Must pass a Respirator fit test
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
