The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Pool Server to join our hotel team. We hire individuals that are committed to providing a remarkable guest experience and changing the standard of luxury. What you can expect to do:
- Be familiar with all standards of performance excellence and adhere to these standards throughout our guest’s experience.
- Greet arriving guests warmly and sincerely.
- Escort guests to chairs, provide set up assistance/towels and serve water.
- Take guests’ food and beverage order and anticipate any needs and wishes
- Promptly deliver food and beverage items, as they are prepared to the correct table and in order.
- Communicate clearly with cook staff or expeditor when picking up food orders
- Remove any dirty dishes and utensils from guests’ area.
- Monitor pool deck for seat availability, service and well-being of guests.
- Proactively engage guests and promote a positive experience.
- Know all menu items including ingredients, required condiments and specific service.
- Be knowledgeable of liquor laws as well as company policies regarding consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Know all beverages available including ingredients, garnish and specific service
- Be responsible and accountable for all unsigned guest checks and report them to the manager.
- Ensure pool deck, dining tables and cabanas are clean and orderly throughout the service period.
- Discard used towels and replace with clean and neatly placed towels on lounge chairs and service stations.
- Check side duty list for opening and closing procedures.
- Be familiar with emergency safety measures.
- Attend all scheduled staff meetings and supplemental training sessions
- Obtain a completed check, present to the guest and finalize check in the POS system according to method of payment.
- Maintain a positive image and energy.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
- Be knowledgeable about The Post Oak and its services.
- Current Food Handler's Card.
- Current Alcohol Server Seller Certification.
- Ability to lift moderate weights and remain on feet for a prolonged period of time.
- Ability to carry food and beverage trays safely and professionally.
- A sincere desire to provide the utmost in guest service.
- Neat appearance.
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail a must.
- Ability to listen effectively.

- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field.
- One to three years of experience
- Knowledge in and or experience with Forbes 5 Star service standards is preferred.
