The duties and responsibilities of a small town Police Officer are much different than those of a larger agency. This should be kept in mind as you apply and while you were to complete your job tasks. During your shifts you will have many different duties and will have to handle every type of call for service/ incident, from start to finish. This is a small town and department, which relies on teamwork and the community to succeed.

You MUST have a POST License PRIOR to being hired or nearing the end of your law enforcement training.

Wellsville has a K-12 school located within the city limits. Along with multiple gas stations, multiple service stations, numerous businesses and food establishments.
Wellsville is 32 miles from Warrenton; 50 miles from Columbia and 13 miles north of I-70 located on Missouri Highway 19.
Highway 19 is a popular road having Mark Twain Lake 30 miles north. Then Hermann, MO which is 30 miles south. Within the area of Wellsville, we have two conservations areas and a private membership lake, which is owned by the city.
