ABOUT ELF:
The Education & Leadership Foundation (ELF) is a community-based organization that provides education, immigration, and various special project programs and services to the Central Valley’s underserved, disadvantaged, and/or low-income families. ELF’s organizational mission is to empower underrepresented communities through immigration services, equitable educational opportunities, and social justice. Our long-term vision is to become an inspiring model of service to the community through advocacy, social justice, innovation, and sustainability locally and globally.
ELF was funded by seven volunteers who wanted to support undocumented students to finish school in 2007.We have experienced exponential growth since that time, and today we are an agency led by a BIPOC Board of
Directors and leadership with lived experience and personal connections to our work.
ABOUT PARTNERSHIP WITH LATINO COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
The Education and Leadership Foundation has partnered with the Latino Community Foundation (LCF) to develop and implement the PoderArte Fellowship. LCF exists to unleash the civic and economic power of Latinos in
California. LCF fulfills its mission by building a movement of civically engaged philanthropic leaders, investing in grassroots Latino-led organizations, and increasing the political participation of Latinos in California. LCF is at a pivotal stage in its growth and is actively expanding its programs across the state.
LCF hosts the largest network of Latino philanthropists in the nation. The groundbreaking Latino Nonprofit
Accelerator, another key program, is a year-long fundraising and marketing incubator gaining national attention for its transformational impact in the nonprofit sector. LCF leads from a unique intersection of corporate, grassroots, and philanthropic power and unites cross-sector leaders to advance the California Latino Agenda, a policy and advocacy platform that ensures equitable opportunities for all Latino families in California. In 2023, LCF launched
PoderArte to invest in artists and cultural workers advancing social justice as part of its historic Latino Power Fund.
