The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall safety and asset care performance of the entire facilities and associated assets.
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of manufacturing plant and their employees.
The Plant Manager duties include training manufacturing plant employees, reviewing production records to determine whether employees meet their performance expectations and coordinating with corporate management to enforce changes to plant budgets or safety procedures.
The Plant Manager reports to the Vice President of Operations

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Responsible for overall manufacturing, and material storage, facility safety, and the quality of produced and packaged pipe.
  • Responsible for ensuring manufacturing, operation, and supply chain management processes are capable of meeting quality, cost, and delivery requirements per company objectives to strengthen company values and to better serve customers.
  • Responsible for all plant related capital expenditure (CAPEX).
  • Responsible for planning, implementation, and management of manufacturing at all functions throughout the facility. To include, but not limited to:
  • Budgets, to include Capital Expenditures
  • Procurement
  • Inventory
  • Production planning with the Customer Service Manager
  • Manufacturing, to include growth and expansion projects
  • Manufacturing Processes
  • Machine maintenance
  • Responsible, with VP of Operations approval, for the procurement of all raw materials to include:
  • Material Specification
  • Shipment
  • Resin Scheduling
  • Performing other duties assigned by the VP of Operations
  • Direct reports include all production, quality, and maintenance personnel
  • Train and coach production, quality, and maintenance personnel
  • Accountable for understanding and putting into practice the SHE Principles. Additionally, the Plant Manager has a responsibility to cascade the understanding of the principles through the location and their work group.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business, or Engineering preferred.
  • 7+ years of management experience in the HDPE extrusion manufacturing industry.
  • 10+ years of supervisory experience required.
  • Knowledge and experience leading in Process Safety Management (PSM) environment or highly regulated plant.
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering and reporting process data and key performance indicators to senior level leadership teams.
  • Proven leadership, persuasive, initiative, adaptability, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders.
  • Ability to stand and walk 8-10 hours per day.
  • Ability to wear PPE, including, but not limited to, hard hat, safety glasses and steel-toe footwear that meets ASTM F-2413-2005 standards.
  • The employee will be required to: read, communicate verbally and in written form, remember and analyze information, and remember and understand all instructions and guidelines
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is frequently required to use their hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be available “on call”, as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position consists mostly of administrative tasks but does include some work outside in the pipe yard when inventory counts, or inspections are conducted.
Time will be spent among the office, production floor and yard areas. Sometime will be spent outside in all-weather conditions.
Work closely with Sales, Production, Quality Assurance, Administration and Shipping personnel.

TRAINING:
The Company provides training in ADP, customer service, safety, WHMIS and quality procedures.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel to other cities or manufacturing facilities may be necessary for training or benchmarking purposes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
