This position involves collaborating with a teams of scientists locally and nationally to develop insight into molecular and biological processes that benefit human health and diseases. Efforts are likely to include the experimental design and application of advanced mass spectrometry-based omics technologies for identifying and quantifying metabolites, lipids, and proteins. Tissue samples analyses may include rat and human sources and other biomedically relevant model systems such as tissues, cells, and fluids.
The candidate is expected to contribute and lead data analysis, interpretation, and identify potential next step suggestions of omics results. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to do great science and has the ability to work in large multidisciplinary teams, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to writing grant proposals.
Conducts research of organic or inorganic substances. Analyzes and tests new or existing materials to identify their properties and characteristics for the development or improvement of new or existing products. Studies the relationship between chemical and physical properties. Qualifications:

The Integrative Omics research group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has a
Physiology & Metabolism– Omics Scientist
– Level 2 position available for a talented scientist to be part of a team interested in exercise physiology, obesity, diabetes, and related biology domains using omics approaches and data-driven analyses.

Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA and 2 years of relevant experience -OR-
- MS/MA -OR-
- PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. with 2 or more years of postdoctoral experience in applying omics analyses to exercise physiology systems or closely aligned biological expertise.
- Experience with laboratory research and data analysis is necessary.
- Good publication record and comfortable writing manuscripts.
- Work independently, self-initiative, ability to articulate ideas clearly, and experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
