Job description

- The physician is responsible for providing health care services to their patients in accordance with generally accepted standards of professional practice.

- Provide primary care and refer to specialist when necessary.

- Coordinate and interpret findings of consultations and laboratory work as they relate to the total health of the patient. Explain these findings to the individual so that he/she will understand the significance.

- Practice preventative medicine by utilizing the interdisciplinary team approach and relying on the physician assistant, midwife, health educator, nutritionist and social worker to provide appropriate health techniques to patient and families.

- Serve as a medical resource person and be instrumental in educating staff in areas of disease conditions, pathophysiology, treatment, morbidity and medical regimens.

- Utilizes the support of nursing and medical assistant staff. Educates and guides them in their duties. Insures open channeled communication in order to enhance the efficient functioning of the health center
