Alameda Health System’s Eastmont Wellness Center in Oakland, CA is currently recruiting for a Services as Needed (SAN, per diem) Women's Health or Family Nurse Practitioner to join its team. This position is for our Women's clinic and, if interested, also for our Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Center.

In our Women's clinic, we provide full-scope gynecological care including family planning, cervical cancer screening, endometrial biopsies, STI and vaginitis treatment, breast disorders, and more!

Our Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Center is located within our Specialty clinic and provides specialized treatment for some of the most vulnerable people in Alameda County. Training would be provided on the sub-specialization skills such as IUD insertion, endometrial biopsy, pain education, endometriosis patient-centered education, pelvic exam for pain patients, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery counseling, and postoperative checks.

Eastmont Wellness Center is a large outpatient center that serves a diverse patient population in East Oakland, CA. As a provider of care to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay for services, we provide high quality, accessible care to our community's most vulnerable patients. Eastmont offers full scope adult and pediatric primary care and women's health services. We also provide specialty care including orthopedics, dermatology, optometry, pediatric dentistry, and more. We are supported by on-site lab, radiology, behavioral health therapy, and case management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education:

For Nurse Practitioners: Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner training program that conforms to the Board of Registered Nursing standards. Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.

For Physician Assistants: Successful completion of a Physician Assistant program of instruction in primary health care approved by the Physician Assisting Examining Committee; OR NCCPA for Physician's Assistant.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

For Nurse Practitioners: Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse and certification as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing. Possession of a current Furnishing Number issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing AND Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) OR American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP); OR Certification by the National Certification Corporation as a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner (WHNP).

For Physician Assistants: Possession of a valid Certificate as a Physician Assistant issued by the California Board of MedicalQuality Assurance. A valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Number AND Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Minimum Experience:

• Demonstrated experience which would provide the knowledge and skill necessary for successful performance as a Mid-Level Practitioner.
• One year in area of specialty (i.e. Cardiology, Neurology, G.I, Rheumatology, Orthopedics, Hematology, etc.), PG Residency of ED experience or post-graduate training in area of responsibility.

Preferred Licenses/Certification:

• ACLS
• ATLS
• SART (dependant on area of specialty)
• BLS - Basic Life Support Certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification- AHA American Heart Association (Required for Emergency Department or if overseeing or providing pediatric care on a regular basis).
