We are looking for a strong team player who is passionate about customers that can join a growing independent compounding pharmacy. The candidate should be willing to learn, be able to multitask and wear different hats due the many services provided as well as meet physicians and their supporting staff to maintain professional relationships.

Pharmacy hours are Mon-Fri 9am-6pm. We are closed weekends and major holidays. Pharmacist in Charge will work Monday – Friday minimum 40 hours per week (occasional work from home based on business needs as well as on weekends for research/additional work.

Main Responsibilities:

· Reviews prescriptions issued by Physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine medications and ingredients needed

· Dispenses prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care.

· Counsels & provides information to pharmacy customers and/or providers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals

· Responsible for maintaining, reporting, and submitting all records for the dispensing of controlled substances to state board of pharmacy when required.

· Responsible for inbound/outbound communications for pharmacy prescription transfers and other pharmacy-related issues with all clients

Managerial Responsibilities:

· Provide leadership to the department and to others through positive motivation, goal setting and training.

· Directs & Manages pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals

· Manages & oversees prescription processing activities & all transactions within the pharmacy in order to maintain accurate control over all pharmaceutical materials and ensures adherence with applicable state and federal laws and rules.

· Analyze trends in performance/programs and provide feedback/recommendations to organization for improvement

· Provide regulatory direction and education to staff

Documentation Responsibilities:

· Maintains established operating procedures concerning, but not limited to, quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.

· Ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with board of pharmacy requirements.

Planning Responsibilities:

· Participate regularly in production meetings and share issues, observations, and improvement recommendations.

· Work with business management to ensure staff receives training on process changes and as needed to maintain quality and efficiency standards.

· Partner with the business management to regularly review production processes in an effort to ensure continuous quality improvement

Job Requirements:

· A Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree (PharmD or BSPharm) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in pharmacy setting.

· Compounding experience preferred but not required

· Strong technical background and passion for learning and sharing knowledge with employees/patients/clients

· Comfort with advanced software tools, and pharmacy database systems

· Advanced knowledge of presentation/communication tools (Gmail, Microsoft Word, Excel)

· Advanced Analytical/Research Skills

Compensation & Benefits:

· Salaried position: $125,000 per year with bonus potential
