JOB SUMMARY: The Payroll Coordinator will support all initiatives of the payroll function as well as the business area's needs. Must have excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist the Certified Payroll Specialist in reporting and creating the certified payroll reports in accordance with the NYC Comptroller's Prevailing Wage Schedule and Supplemental Benefit rates and submitting certified payroll reports timely to NYSID; H.R.A. Department of Social Services and Department of Sanitation and other funders as needed.
- Ensures bi-weekly payrolls are processed in a timely and accurate manner with ADP EV5 & Time Saver or Oracle software.
- Check time sheets utilizing an electronic time and attendance software (Timesaver or Oracle) product for compliance with policy, state and regulatory requirements.
Reviews computed wages and correct errors to ensure the accuracy of earnings. Ensure that all changes to payroll are processed correctly in ADP
Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files, garnishments and including manual checks log, review and audit pay data entries
Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
Perform other duties and special projects as requested by management

QUALIFICATIONS: Job qualifications are stated in the Essential Functions of the job description. An employee must be able to accomplish the Essential Functions to be competent in the job
Education: Associate in business or accounting plus 3-5 years of experience in accounting and payroll operations managing multi-state payroll
Software Skills:
- Must be experienced with ADP software to include EV5
- Familiarity with timekeeping required such as Timesaver and Oracle
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel
Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Work Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office environment. Remote work option will be taken into consideration
Special Schedule: Normal schedule is standard business hours Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm; At times, must be willing to work in excess of 40 hours per week as driven by operational needs
Travel Demands: Occasional travel may be required as needed to support the objectives of business units within portfolio
Job Experience: Non-profit experience is strongly preferred
