Job description:

In this role, you will act as liaison between patient and clinical staff within the office. Patient care and service is key to the longevity and success of a medical office. You are the first face patients will see, so you must be able to embrace and convey the mission and vision of The

Garden of Eden Health Center in your service in excellence. Candidates for this position must have strong customer service and communication skills, both written and oral, to receive and provide constructive feedback as well as maintain a cohesive work environment. Excellent organizational skills and judgment with high attention to detail and professionalism are a must for this fast pace, highly visibility position. Integrity to handle point of service finances and patient payments. Must have a love for people, getting work done, and maintains a positive attitude and professionalism under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them in person or via telephone as well as answering/referring inquiries thereby setting the atmosphere for a healing and peaceful environment that is warm, supportive, caring, and joyful. Comforting patients by anticipating patients’ needs.
  • Schedule appts for the physician and clinical staff to optimize patient satisfaction, provider times, and the most effective utilization of examining and treatment rooms.
  • Obtaining and verifying patient accounts in the electronic health record by updating patient demographics including but not limited to insurance verification and benefits, collection of copays due at the time of service, and eligibility prior to appointments
  • Maintaining confidentiality of patients’ personal and financial information per HIPAA regulations
  • Reminding patients of their appointments at least 24 hrs prior to appointment
  • Registering and checking in patients in a timely manner (new patients within 15 minutes, and established patients 2-3 minutes)
  • Notifying provider of patients’ late arrival to include rescheduling or moving late arriving patients when necessary
  • Maintain a same day cancellation list of patients to adjust provider schedules for baseline patient visits per day.
  • Maintaining a clean and presentable front office, reception area, hallway, bathroom, and viewable kitchen area.
  • May assist other staff members with their duties as workload dictates.
  • Maintain and oversee written communication with the office including but not limited to the business email, wix-business webpage, and Facebook (FB)/social media communications.
  • Receive training to assist with reading patient financial statements to explain to patients, collection of outstanding payments, and some billing.
  • Other responsibilities as given and accepted by office administration o May include cross training such as:

▪ Billing and coding

▪ Credentialing

▪ Rooming procedures and turnover in between patients.

Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Skills
  • Trainable and Teachable
  • Medication and Medical terminology familiarity is very beneficial
  • Billing and Coding - familiarity beneficial

Primary hours:

Monday 7:30am-5pm

Tuesday 7:30am-5pm

Wednesday 7am-12pm

Thursday 9:30am-4pm

Friday 7:30am-4pm

Hours are subject to vary based on clinicians’ schedules. Schedules will be verified by management prior to the upcoming week of work. Schedule to be discussed in detail during orientation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
