Job Summary

As a Patient Financial Services Manager, it is required to manage the day-to-day business office operations. It includes supervising all financial procedures including collections, accounts receivables for the facility with best efforts to achieve monthly goals established by the Chief Financial Officer. In this role, it also entails functions as the Regional Director’s financial consultant regarding receivable and payables.

Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, "Confidentiality of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Patient Records", and 45 CFR "Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act." This position has unrestricted access to patient identifying information.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervising all financial procedures including collections, account receivables, and additional goals established by the Chief Financial Officer.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform functions of billing, collections, admissions, cash posting, data entry in accordance with company policy
  • Complete monthly reports on revenue, collections, and admissions for the Regional Director according to policies and procedures
  • Responsible for petty cash reconciliation and/or maintenance of the administrative fund checking account
  • Review and input account payable after approval by Regional Director in accordance in company policy
  • Balance and post daily receipts and patient charges for facility in accordance with company policy
  • Daily review of eob’s and posting of contractual adjustments for facility in accordance with company policy
  • Monitor accounts receivable for appropriate collection and follow up activity including possible bad debt write off’s in accordance with company policy
  • Timely review and disposition of financial class “M” (manager review) accounts in accordance with company policy
  • Function as a liaison between the facility and corporate accounting to ensure proper reporting of cash deposits, projected revenues, etc
  • Responsible for maintenance of patient records, including storage, retrieval an closeout
  • Participate in department head, utilization review, and any committee meetings as assigned by the Regional Director
  • Perform any general administrative/clerical functions of the facility
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, must not appear impaired or disoriented, but rather must present coherent and articulate speech, kept appearance, alert, oriented, and responsive to patients’ needs and concerns
  • Ability to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, clients and prospective clients
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness as to perform the job in a safe manner
  • Regular attendance
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Regional Director, Director of Fiscal Services, or Chief Financial Officer

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have 2 years of experience of business office experience in a health care facility
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Must have good personal interaction skills
  • Must be skilled in office equipment, i.e. calculator, computer, copy machine and fax machine
  • Must be able to type accurately 50 wpm
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to see a 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear (hearing aid acceptable)
  • Must be able to continuously sit for approximately 6 hrs. per 8-hour shift
  • Must be able to walk within the facility a total of approximately 1 mile per 8-hour shift
  • Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations
  • If recovering, two years of continuous verifiable abstinence
