About Paul R. Gollender, O.D.
Established in 1980, this modern, high-tech practice provides comprehensive and preventive eye care to residents and families in Placer County. The team of professionals manages and monitors cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal disorders, inflammatory eye conditions and provides diabetic eye care and an advanced dry eye clinic. The practice also specializes in fitting scleral shell-style contacts for advanced corneal disorders and provides myopia reduction with corneal refractive therapy for low to moderate nearsightedness for active children and teenagers. To support ongoing business growth and expand specialty services, Paul R. Gollender, O.D., is looking for an Optometrist to join the highly trained staff of 13 employees.
The clinic is suited with state-of-the-art, pre-diagnostic optical technology and uses behind-the-scenes functional technology to diagnose a wide array of ocular conditions. The professionals leverage advanced technology, including a multi-layer digital retinal camera, corneal topographer with meibography, dynamic tear flow and tear chemistry analyzer, visual field testing, corneal, macular and optic nerve optical coherence tomography. Cloud-based technology manages electronic health records and establishes a baseline of patients' ocular health. The optical boutique carries over 1,000 designer frames and fashion-forward styles—plus, a virtual frame gallery is available online to conveniently serve customers.
About the Optometrist Opening
Paul R. Gollender, O.D., is seeking an Optometrist passionate about providing individualized care and vision solutions to promote excellent eye health. You'll perform comprehensive clinical care, educate patients about their ocular health, and recommend vision-enhancing products—approximately 25 to 30 patients are cared for daily in the general clinic and ten patients in the specialty clinic. You'll also have the opportunity to educate, mentor, manage staff, and perform community outreach. The position is full-time, offering 32 hours weekly. A candidate with a strong understanding and desire to practice medical optometry will be an asset to the team. The practice is looking for a self-starter with excellent clinical skills and the ability to network with local physicians. Someone interested in learning the business side of optometry, has excellent public speaking skills and enjoys community involvement should apply to this role. To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as compassion for patient health and safety. In addition, the ideal candidate will want to continuously develop skills through mentorship with experienced doctors and integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.
Minimum qualifications include:
  • Optometry license in the state of California
  • At least three years of professional experience or a new graduate who has completed a two-year internship
