Job Overview

The Operations Planning Project Manager provides guidance and leadership to a team of Operations Planning Project Managers. The role is responsible for reviewing and approving suggested plans in conjunction with the Director of Operations Planning. The role works closely with the Director of Operations Planning to identify opportunities and makes recommendations for viable solutions. This role also plans, designs, and implements strategic routing resource plans. The Operations Planning Project Manager collaborates with Sales and Distribution leadership and works directly with additional support functions (Master Data, Customer Care, CONA).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and design strategic routing solutions for sales, distribution, and merchandising functions. This entails data management, frequency analysis, and balancing of routes to ensure effective and efficient routes
  • Responsible for leadership and performance of a team of Operations Planning Project Managers to ensure all processes and communications are followed
  • Review and approve planning scenarios and ensure completion of projects
  • Provide feedback as necessary for additional scenarios that would improve effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Effectively manage the scheduling and assignment of all project requests. This entails ensuring all projects are scheduled and completed promptly based on requests while assigning the appropriate resources(s) based on the scope of work
  • Provide modeling of various scenarios for improved efficiencies and financial impact. This would include network optimization, distribution methodologies, and sales and merchandising strategies

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to provide oversight and direction for field-based teammates
  • Knowledge and understanding of sales, delivery, and merchandising operations
  • Attention to detail; influential and fact-based decision making
  • Establish collaborative and cross-functional relationships
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and planning/mapping software
  • Analytical; effective time management skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum two years of direct Operations Planning Project Manager experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sales Operations knowledge acquired through 3 to up to 5 years of work experience
