Operations Specialist
Our Boston Global Forwarding office (located in Danvers) is seeking a Full Time International Customer Service /
Operations Agent. The Agent role is for an individual with excellent communication and customer service skills. This individual will multi-task and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment while providing best-in-class customer service.
The Agent evaluates customers' needs and ensures the most efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Routing of shipments via airfreight carriers, ocean carriers surface carriers both LTL and FTL as required. Able to process and understand imports/exports and incoterms.

Forwarding routings

• Data entry of shipments
• Tracking and tracing of shipments
• Cost accrual and revenue accrual of shipments
• Coordinate cargo bookings and shipment needs
• Respond to customer inquiries and follow-up
• Collaborate with support staff, other offices and other third parties to ensure efficiency, continued exemplary customer service, and relationship development
• Understand and input applicable financial components of shipments for proper billing of customers
• Generate, file, and maintain up-to-date and accurate customer records, reports, shipment documentation, etc.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

WORK EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven office environment
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills and phone etiquette
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Exceptional customer service skills and meticulous follow up
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and using the Internet
• Industry knowledge is preferred
• MUST HAVE MINIMUM 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN INTERNAIONAL LOGISTICS.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED required
