Sweeny, Wingate & Barrow, P.A. was started in 1993 when the named partners combined their litigation and transactional experience to create a firm committed to excellence, integrity, and service. Since that time, the Firm has grown to approximately 15 lawyers practicing civil defense litigation, and probate and estate planning law. Our firm is structured to meet the litigation and consulting needs of individuals, businesses, and insurance companies throughout South Carolina. Our practice is statewide and we regularly practice in each of the State's 46 counties and all federal courts. We work hard to build long standing relationships with those we represent.
Position Summary
The Office Coordinator oversees daily operations of the firm and provides management/supervision to runner staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in recruiting and interviewing runner staff
- Provide training, management, and supervision to runner staff
- Create work schedules based on runner availability and needs of the firm
- Maintain file rooms
- Maintain all office and kitchen supplies
- Oversee all errands/runs
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Close files on a monthly basis and send to external storage
- Oversee office hospitality
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for: office supplies, printer/copier maintenance, housekeeping, and general building needs
- Serve as backup for Receptionist as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year office organization and filing experience
- Minimum one year of experience working with a team
- Minimum one year of experience in a leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to utilize decision making skills
- Ability to manage systems/processes
- Organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Professionalism
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in work
- Problem solving and reasoning ability
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and strong computer skills
- Teamwork-willingness to help others when needed
- Strong written and verbal skills
