JOB SUMMARY:
Provide night housing coverage in the dorm seeking to establish and maintain a positive living environment in the dorm.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain quiet hours and enforce the housing policies during the evening shift, generally 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.
  • Primary duties include cleaning restrooms and common areas. Report all maintenance issues to the Employee Residence Manager.
  • Maintain a log of occurrences and communicate with Housing Department Management on a daily basis.
  • Communicate resident complaints and concerns to the Employee Residence Manager.
  • Interact with residents on a continual basis in a professional manner to maintain quiet hours, enforce policies, keep out unauthorized visitors, ensure cleanliness and to resolve problems as they occur.
  • Communicate and cooperate with Fire and Security and NPS officers to resolve problems whenever needed. Ensure that situations which potentially involve illegal activity are reported promptly via NPS.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment while performing tasks, and adhere to all safety and risk management policies.
  • Do special projects as assigned by the housing office.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to interact in an effective non-confrontational manner with the residents, visitors and resident’s guests in assigned dorm.
  • Set a positive example of appropriate dormitory behavior at all times.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in difficult situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to professionally and impartially assess a situation and apply appropriate, consistent resolutions as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others without close supervision.
  • Ability to work a late night shift and maintain an excellent attendance record.
