REGIONAL SALES MANAGER
-New York/NEW ENGLAND
Premium Exterior Architectural Lighting Brand
Location – New York City, NY
Territory – New York, Northern New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont

Our company is seeking a full time New York / New England Regional Sales Manager for our fast-growing architectural exterior lighting brand. As a member of the Regional Sales Team, you will take ownership of all sales in the New England territory, directly interfacing with decision makers, specifiers, and sales representatives while acting as the face of the organization in the market. The primary focus is to be the New York specification community.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will be responsible for the growth and maintaining of the North American New England Region sales territory, with a particular focus on the New York City and Boston Metropolitan areas. You will drive the increasing demand for our products, maximize sales and quotas, and work alongside sales representatives and specifiers in the region. You will travel 10-20% outside of NYC, excluding weekends, including attending meetings and training events at our HQ location in Western PA.
In this role, you will
- Grow profitable sales in the New York and New England Region.
- Achieve sales budgets and quotas, while maintaining desired profit margins.
- Work closely with Sales Representatives, Lighting Designers, Distributors, and Specifiers.
- Create and maintain strong relationships with all relevant parties, companies, institutions, and people, and paying attention to market needs.
- Fully understand and confidently navigate the complexity of North America’s sales network.
- Identify and generate new opportunities, maintain relationships, and build the company brand.
- Propose sales targets in the region based on verifiable market intelligence.
- Confidently and knowledgeably present new products, highlighting their features and benefits.
- Answer customer requests regarding products, pricing, and technical modifications.
- Identify needs and opportunities, provide technical quotation support and create lighting packages.
- Attend product shows, locally sponsored events, and larger national trade shows.
- Organize your travel in the most economical way, within corporate guidelines.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 7-10 years of professional experience in the Lighting Industry
- Proven track record in exterior architectural lighting
- Able to talk lighting in deep technical detail with lighting designers, engineers, and architects
- Reputable working relationships with Sales Representatives, Lighting Designers, and Specifiers, preferred in New York City metro area
- Extensive and accessible network in the lighting world
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills related to technical products
- Ability to work remotely and manage all sales role responsibilities
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal, motivational, and organizational skills
- Proven track record of exceeding sales goals in prior positions
- Dynamic team player who can think outside the box
- Spanish fluency (written & verbal) a plus
ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High level of energy, competitiveness, and willingness to succeed as a self-starter
- Understand the technical aspects and features of our company’s and competitors’ products and optical systems
- Ability to conduct product training to sales representatives, specifiers, and end users
- In-depth understanding of current LED technology, as well as electronic control systems, including wireless control system and motion control systems
- Experience and understanding of the European-designed specification grade architectural outdoor lighting market
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle several projects and project locations simultaneously
- Understands lighting design, able to use design software such as AGi32
- Computer skills: advanced level user of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word; familiarity with CRM software
- Must hold a valid Drivers’ License and a valid Passport
